Work for Friday 23 September 2011
Well I really think we have more than adequately discussed the two stories. You may ask me any additional questions you have in class.
I expect you to bring in to class ( along with your book ) Parts I, II, III, IV in rough draft form for discussion. Your rough draft must be readable by me!
Doing it on computer is a very good idea because you can then revise and edit without rewritting the whole thing. It's up to you. You must have this rough copy plus your book on Friday. The rest of the draft will be due on Tuesday Sept 27th .
We will begin Persuasion on Tues. the 27th and you need to have a copy by then.

Short Story Work for Sept 13, 2011
We will discuss Tobermory p.126 in which I asked you to mark the passages where Saki is satirizing the Upper Class Enlish society and their avoidance of privacy issues!
Then we will go to The Lifted Veil by George Eliot p.185. I would like you to mark and annotate the passages where Latimore talks about his strange gift and the dubious value it has so that he experiences more knowlege about the people in his life then he needs to in this Gothic story!
What is interesting about the authors' names? Extra Credit!

The thick plottens. More will be revealed as we see Lady Macbeth pay for her nefarious deeds. Her husband the claimant to the throne of Scotland, alas, will not fare much better. Off to the battle.

That's all folks!
