Scene V pp.114-120

1.     Why does Cromwell tell More there are no Charges and Rich to write down that fact?

2.     What is Cromwell’s purpose in bringing up the Holy Maid of Kent?

3.     Cromwell says there is a charge: More’s helping the King to write the book  A Defense of the Seven Sacraments.  Discuss how Cromwell can use this to trap More.

4.     Will Cromwell continue to frighten More?

Scene VI pp.120-126

1.     Why won’t the boatman pick Thomas More up?

2.     More then meets Norfolk  and tries to dissuade him from continuing to be his friend.  Why?

3.     Will Roper interrupts this scene to bring news of an Act of Parliament.  What is it and why is it important?
